The mission of the Marshall County Attorney’s Office is to pursue truth and justice, provide legal counsel for County departments, and make Marshall County a better place to live, work, and raise a family.

What We Do

  • Prosecute all criminal violations in accordance with the Iowa Code, in addition to Marshall County Ordinances
  • Represent the State of Iowa, Marshall County, and its officers in official matters
  • Provide legal assistance and support to the Board of Supervisors, Marshall County departments, and township officers in official county matters
  • Present all child in need of assistance cases, juvenile delinquency cases, and mental health commitment proceedings

What We Don't Do

  • Provide legal advice to individuals or private groups
  • Represent or defend individuals or private groups
  • Prepare legal documents such as wills, deeds, or guardianship paperwork for individuals or private groups
