Opioid Settlement
A Message From Marshall County Attorney Jordan Gaffney:
Starting in 2022, counties across the State of Iowa began receiving funds from the national opioid settlements. Each year, the Marshall County Attorney’s Office opens the opportunity for service providers to seek grant funding to provide prevention, treatment, and recovery services for the benefit of Marshall County residents to combat the ongoing opioid epidemic.
These funds are non-taxpayer dollars that can be utilized to fund projects that fight the opioid crisis. It’s a unique opportunity to do something good and meaningful.
Opioid Settlement Funding Grant Information
- When applications are being accepted, program applicants are asked to complete and submit:
- Marshall County Application for Opioid Settlement Funding Grant
- Provide an attached comprehensive description of the project
- Provide a proposed funding budget for the grant-funded programming
- All grant-funded programming must comply with one or more opioid abatement activities identified in the National Opioid Settlement Exhibit E
- Applications will be considered and reviewed by the Marshall County Opioid Grant Committee
- Applications that are approved by the Marshall County Opioid Grant Committee will be reviewed for final approval by the Marshall County Board of Supervisors
- Approved applications are required to comply with reporting requirements

The purpose of this program is to ensure opioid settlement funds address the approved opioid remediation uses described in Exhibit A, Exhibit B, Core Strategies, and List of Approved Uses available for review in the following links.
