Iowa River Wildlife Management Area

It shall be lawful to permit dogs to run at large for the purpose of training or exercising them in or on all areas designated as public hunting areas except between March 15 and July 15 of each year.
Working with the Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation and many other donors, the Iowa River Wildlife Management Area is the most recent addition to the Marshall County Conservation Areas.
Also taking the title of the largest recreational area in Marshall County, the Iowa River Wildlife Area offers some of the most unique and diverse habitat in the county. The mature hardwood timber portion plays host to many unique flora and fauna species including: turk’s cap lily, green dragon, and red-shouldered hawks. You will also find wetland areas, rolling grassland, and a 1.5 stretch of the Iowa River bordering the area.
