All of unincorporated Marshall County is zoned and permits are required for most structures (pole buildings, dwellings, decks, signs, etc.). A permit is required when any excavating, erecting, constructing, reconstructing or enlarging is done on a property. This also includes altering or moving of a building or structure.
A permit is also required to change the use or occupancy of any building, structure or land from one classification to another, or to change a non-conforming use without the issuance of a Building Permit.
